Work Location Type:Onsite We are seeking a high-performing, high-potential senior leader for our Northwest Distribution Center (NWDC) under construction in beautiful Gresham, OR. Before we post externally in Q4, we want to determine if there is any interest internally for this role. It also presents a unique career-building opportunity from an operational perspective as Grainger's highly automated, 500,000 square-foot NWDC is the first new distribution center to be built since the Louisville Distribution Center (LVDC) began outbound operations in 2021. The NWDC is being built specifically for Grainger as a state-of-the art building with the latest technology and innovative features such as automated small bin storage and retrieval, which dramatically reduces the need for walking, thus allowing team members to focus on providing the highest levels of quality and service to customers. Building plans also include solar panels and other sustainability features such as hydrogen fuel cell batteries, electrification using heat pumps and metering and monitoring systems to ensure the building is operating at peak efficiencies. Grainger is a leader among the MRO industry in operating Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified facilities; LEED certification will be pursued for this DC as well. Upon opening, the NWDC will be a critical piece of Grainger's coast-to-coast distribution network strengthening the company's reputation for industry-leading fulfillment by broadening the breadth of items available for next-day delivery in the Pacific Northwest. The additional capacity will enable even better service for current and future Grainger customers in the Pacific Northwest and the surrounding region. Position Details: As the Human Resources Managerfor the Northwest Distribution Center located in Gresham, Oregon, you will report to a Senior Directorof Human Resources. You will focus on understanding then aligning important business and people strategies to ensure we have a productive environment that provides people solutions with emphasis on Strategic HR Planning and Change Management within our Distribution Center operations. This specific role focuses on consulting with partners to determine and build people strategies to promote a positive culture while meeting needs and positions our talent at a strategic advantage. As a Human Resources Manager,you will be a strategic partner to the Operations HR Leadership Team.You will sit onsite at our newly constructed Gresham Distribution Center. You Will: Develop HR related strategy plans. Help guide and communicate our strategy through knowledge of the business and the marketplace. Partner with DC Operations to create and execute a Non-exempt DC Associate recruiting plan. Create the human capital strategy; partner across human resources and the business to implement to close gaps and create competitive advantage. Ensure outstanding execution of cyclical HR processes that touches and shapes a great experience for Grainger team members. Work with the business to ensure we have great people and successors for all senior and essential roles. Improve engagement by ensuring our plan is well understood by all. Identify our needs and process improvement opportunities; work with Center of Excellence and Shared Services to assess and develop solutions to improve results. Support workforce analysis and measurement to assess the health of the organization and talent. Solicit employee feedback to assess the state of the organization; demonstrate the value of the feedback through action or acknowledgement; communicate in a meaningful way. Support employee relations matters. Ensure appropriate learning and growth opportunities are identified and acted on for individuals and teams. Coach the business through the appropriate change management steps to ensure successful execution of important projects. You Have: BA/BS or equivalent preferred. 5+ years of experience in related field preferred. Consulting skills with the ability to link business strategies with people strategies. Experience starting up a new facility. Experience in a leadership liaison role and the ability to guide complex change.
