Job Description:

This incumbent demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in the execution of appropriate, safe, efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. The incumbent participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or technician supervisor and is an integral part of the pharmacy team.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 730-4 or 8-430, no weekends or holidays

Scope

As a Pharmacy Tech Medication Compliance Specialist you need to know how to:

Improve the overall quality of care being provided by advocating for compliant use of pharmaceutical regimens through collaboration with clinic and pharmacy teams- Identify barriers that prevent patients from taking medication regimens appropriately, and work with care team members to provide solutions to help patients successfully manage their health- With a strong knowledge of pharmacy workflows, insurance plans, and available resources, help clinic staff improve the quality of service being provided to their patients- Provide telephonic and in-person patient outreach based on reports identifying patients who may require additional support with the management and coordination of medication regimens- Assist with the deployment of clinical programs designed to improve the quality of care being provided to patients- Enroll patients in medication compliance programs, and provide follow-up communication on a scheduled basis to ensure patients barriers to safe medication use are being addressed- Refer patients to appropriate care team members, including providers, nurses, and pharmacists, as the patients needs dictate

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, required- Minimum of two (2) years of Pharmacy Tech experience, required- CPhT, required

Perferred Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills as this individual will be working directly with pharmacists, providers, and patients

Ability to problem solve through critical thinking and creativity

Knowledge of prescription claims, insurance coverage, medication assistance programs, etc.

Willingness to learn new clinical skills to support growing clinical pharmacy services

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$18.29 - $29.09
