Job Overview:RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Per Diem Registered Dietitian in Somerville, NJ.Qualifications:Required:Some weekends and holiday coverage requiredHigh School diploma or equivalent RequiredBachelor s Degree in Nutrition or equivalent RequiredPreferred:Familiar with EHR such as EpicMasters Degree in Nutrition or equivalent Preferred but not requiredMinimum of 1 year Preferred but open to new gradsCertifications and Licenses Required:Registered Dietitian with CDR- RequiredScheduling Requirements:Day ShiftPer Diem Schedule (mostly weekend coverage about one weekend day every 3-4 weeks, some weekday hours as needed)Essential Functions:Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide medical nutritional therapyIdentifies patients at high nutritional risk based on criteria outlined by the hospitalAssess nutritional needs and identifies nutrient requirements according to age and disease specific needs of patientsPerforms nutrition focus physical assessmentsDevelops and implements the nutrition care plan for all assigned patientsFacilitates continuity of care among all phases across the continuum of careContinuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutritional therapy interventionProvides nutrition education to patient and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors to accomplish patient goalsManages the delivery of nutrition care services according to area of assignmentParticipates in performance improvement and research activitiesActively assess, evaluates, and maintains professional development and competencySkills:Communicates effectively with othersAbility to engage resistant patientsExcellent customer service skillsFlexible with changeOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
