LITIGATION PARALEGAL Litigation Paralegal with minimum 5 years litigation experience sought for boutique rapidly growing law firm, specializing in business litigation, with an emphasis on partnership, corporate, and shareholder disputes, as well as transactional work catering to our clients' diverse needs. We also provide a comprehensive suite of business legal services. As a crucial member of our team, you'll work closely with the owner and attorneys, supporting our mission, and aiding our clients through challenging times, ensuring they emerge better positioned and fully supported by a devoted team. We require a skilled paralegal, who needs no hand-holding, and can hit the ground running, with minimal supervision. This is a F/T 40 hour, in-the-office, workweek. Compensation DOE, with room for growth, plus bonus potential for demonstrable profitability. Responsibilities: • Assist with drafting discovery requests and responses. • Assisting with preparing Motions, Oppositions, and Replies. • Compose preliminary legal documents like pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas for attorney review • Coordinate and schedule depositions, and document collection, review, and production. • Preparation of retained expert packages. • Trial preparation (assisting with preparation of Witness Lists, Exhibit Lists, Statement of the Case, Exhibit Binders, • coordination of lay and expert witnesses, prepare page line deposition summaries). • E-file in all State and Federal Courts. • Review incoming all incoming documents (both legal and non-legal) and docket/calendar of all firm deadlines and appearances, with a clear understanding of applicable due dates (CCP, CRC, FRCP, CC, etc.). • Overall management of firm-wide cases in the firm’s case management system (Clio) [Knowledge of Clio is a plus but not mandatory]. • Proficiency in creating outlines, chronologies, and indexes. • Legal research re: legal precedents, laws, and regulations relevant to the case; and summarize research findings for attorneys. • Client interaction: Serve as the intermediary between the attorney and the client, collecting necessary information and providing case updates. • Liaise with staff, opposing counsel, and experts regarding case logistics. Qualifications: • Preferred: Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or Bachelor’s Degree. • Minimum 5 years of litigation experience. • Proficient in legal research. • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Exhibits a friendly demeanor, verbally and through e-mail. • Embraces a "no drama, resourceful" attitude. • Capable of juggling multiple tasks and adapting swiftly. • Willing to undertake all necessary tasks to get the job done. • Identify organizational opportunities. • Understands the importance of persistence in communication. • Fluent in Mandarin desire, but not necessarily. Compensation: $35 per hour -$72,800 a year
