The Service Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operations, including operations, sales, customer service, and safety in accordance with The Arcticom Group’s objectives.Essential FunctionsReads, analyzes and interprets written or verbal reports, correspondence or proposalsAssists employees in diagnosing commercial HVAC/Refrigeration equipmentReview financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.Requisitions and keeps inventory of tools, equipment and materials and Safety suppliesStudies production schedules and estimates labor requirements for completion of job assignments including Preventative MaintenancesInterprets and communicates company policies to employeesInspects and monitors work areas, examine tools and safety equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.Ensures proper procedures are followed and put in place for reporting and managing accidentsEnforce the processes and procedures to create more efficient and profitable service businessInterprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to employees, and assigns dutiesResponsible for working with Company dispatchers on all customer and technical issuesRecommends measures to improve performance and quality of product delivered to our customersReviews warranty, service, start-up repair, and installation needsSuggest changes in working conditions and processes to increase efficiency of branch, customer service or work crewAnalyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problemsInitiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve performance goalsReviews & ensures accurate time and production recordsDirectly supervises service managers and leadsCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable lawsIdentifies training needs of staff and facilitates delivery of training.Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsOther FunctionsPerforms other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.High school diploma or GED.Job RequirementsTwo (2) year Technical or Bachelor’s degree recommended but not requiredFive (5) plus years of successful HVAC service management backgroundMust have experience and/or knowledge of the industryMust have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordAbility to perform advanced level maintenance related tasks on HVAC equipmentEPA Universal CertificationProblem solving and conflict management skills recommendedAbility to generate ideas and create processes to grow service departmentAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to work well with all levels of management, executive leadership and support staff, as well as with employeesPhysical Demands and Working EnvironmentSitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting required frequently.Working ConditionsAbility to climb laddersMoving and lifting equipmentOccasionally exposed to outside weatherOccasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shockOn occasions, require driving to customer sitesReasonable Accommodations StatementTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential function (job duty/requirement) satisfactorily.
