The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to specifically serve the needs of the Cardiology Department and support our non-profit mission of delivering world-class care to our patients.Responsibilities

Provide exceptional and compassionate care for our patients from admission through dischargeSupport veterinarians in all facets of care, including interpreting and executing treatment directivesComplete all necessary technical procedures and treatments, with strict adherence to department and hospital protocolsCommunicate professionally with clients and referral veterinariansMaintain concise and accurate records of the patient's treatment progress and chargesMaintain stock, order supplies, and assist with cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of wardParticipate in the training of new employees and volunteersParticipate in educational and research projectsAll other related duties as assignedQualificationsNYS Veterinary Technician's license (or permit) with general practice and anesthesia experienceAbility to handle and restrain all species of animalMust be able to lift 50 poundsMust be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraint and not mind getting wetMust be able to work successfully as part of a teamMust also be able work independently and proactivelyHave ability to follow detailed directions and established protocolsBasic computer skills a mustAbility to correctly complete large amount of paperwork is necessaryMust have flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as neededSome experience in cardiology preferred but not requiredOur comprehensive benefits package includes:Competitive salaryGenerous sign-on bonusGenerous paid time offTuition assistance50% discount on veterinary careMentorship through the VTS processContinuing education funds with rollover optionsNYS Licensing fee reimbursementRelocation reimbursement for qualified candidates who live outside the NYC metropolitan areaFree housing for 1 year for qualified candidates who live outside of the NYC metropolitan area (*2-year employment commitment required)403b matchingComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverageYou may be eligible for The Public Loan Service Forgiveness Program as we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit employerShiftTBD per departmental needs
