Job Title: Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM)
Job Summary: The Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) is responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet specified quality standards. This position plays a critical role in overseeing and verifying that all construction work is completed in compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards. The CQC Inspector collaborates with project management and construction teams to maintain quality control throughout all project phases. The project site is located in Jacksonville, FL. You might have to come to our office occasionally and also will be on site for 90% of your time.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
Conduct on-site inspections to assess work quality and compliance with project specifications.Review construction plans, blueprints, and project documents to understand quality standards and requirements.Identify and document defects, deviations, and non-compliance issues, and work with project teams to address them.Maintain accurate records of inspections and corrective actions taken.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare detailed reports and documentation of inspection findings and corrective actions.Communicate findings to project management and collaborate with them to resolve issues.Maintain a comprehensive record of all quality control activities.
Testing and Verification:
Perform material testing and verification as necessary.Collaborate with third-party testing agencies if required for specialized inspections.Ensure that all materials and construction processes meet project specifications.
Communication:
Maintain effective communication with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors.Provide guidance and feedback to the construction team regarding quality standards.Participate in project meetings to address quality concerns and updates.
Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.Certified Construction Quality Manager (CQM-C) is a MUST. UMX recognizes either USACE or NAVFAC.Proven experience in construction quality control or related roles, with a deep understanding of construction processes and quality standards.Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ACI, OSHA).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.Physical Requirements:
Ability to work on construction sites and perform site inspections, which may involve standing, walking, and climbing.Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials as needed.BENEFITS:
