About the Team

ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly-qualified Virtual Speech Language Pathologist for the Virtual Preparatory Academy of Florida. ACCEL Schools is a K-12 public charter school management organization (CMO) serving students across the United States in brick-and-mortar, virtual, and hybrid school settings. We focus on improving academic outcomes of students regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic factors.

Speech Language Pathologists will work in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents and students, shall be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders helping students to adjust and access the general education curriculum.**Applicants in Colorado, California, New York, and Washington State are not eligible for this position**About the OpportunityProvide high quality virtual speech-language therapy services to a wide variety of students in grades K-12Conduct standard and non-standardized assessments, analyze results and write reports to determine strengths and concerns in the areas of motor speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, literacy, and dysphagiaDevelop treatment plans that are strength based as well as child and family centeredEnsure that IEP, Evaluation and progress monitoring procedures adhere to the district, state and federal guidelinesCollect ongoing daily data and adapt treatment accordingly based on trends in student performanceAttend IEP and Evaluation meetings and provide necessary documentation for team to review in a timely mannerCollaborate with classroom teachers and all other members of a student's educational teamDemonstrate knowledge of the Common Core Standards; aligning them with treatment objectivesDevelop, follow and communicate to building leaders and department supervisors, a daily scheduleAttend regularly scheduled staff meetings and pursue professional development in maintenance of state board licensure and for addressing student and caseload needsFacilitate effective student communication abilities across all modes and levels of languageParticipate in building based intervention processes to support students and teachersDevelop functional use of district software for purposes of special education compliance and accountability reportingAbout YouProfessional Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of FloridaFlorida residency preferredProficient in computer applications, including MS Office Suite, Google applications, e-mail, and internet applications; excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong content knowledge in one or more content areasExhibit genuine care for children and a passion for teachingStrong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make sound educational decisionsExhibit flexibility with regard to decision-making, daily challenges, and job dutiesHas strong sense of integrityHas a "team player" attitudeAbility to work in a diverse educational community settingUnderstanding of the community and student demographicsUnderstand state proficiency testing as well as state teaching standardsSatisfactory completion of state required criminal history check and health testsPhysical ability to lift up to 25 poundsAbout Us
