maintaining strong supplier relationships, supplier score cards and all-encompassing domestic and global supplier management.Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliersManages the sourcing and development of suppliers and contract negotiations locally and globallyCollaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.Prepares and presents market conditions and materials cost reports.Prepares Key Performance Indicators on a monthly basis, attend weekly leadership team staff meetings, and attend quarterly strategy meetings.Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.Attend 7 am daily production meeting to understand stock-outs and urgent production needs and root causes of any purchasing issues.Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.Participate in inventory management activities, including knowing when materials are received, ensuring inventory is counted, appropriate storage, and transportation of materials.Manage supplier relationships and performance against established contracts and processesManage all commodity team projectsCollaborate with other departments to integrate strategic sourcing and supplier relationship managementManage supply chain productivity savings initiatives and activitiesLead the purchasing team, including performance management, career development, time and attendance, and identifying and attracting top talentDevelop, propose, and/or implement improvements to sourcing policiesManage Purchase Order processing and establish key metrics for tracking commitments of materials delivery to supermarket groupHandle special supply chain and operations projects as assigned including continuous improvement initiativesParticipate in Lean events with active involvement in CI initiatives to continue to foster the continuous improvement cultureReport unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticedPosition Details:Candidate must reside in Houston TX, or surrounding areasWork week and schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM to 5:00PM, some evening work and weekend work will be requiredCompensation package offered: a competitive base salary paid safety glasses and steel toesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or Procurement and 5 years in sourcing and/or purchasing, or supply chain in a manufacturing environmentElectrical and electronics parts procurement experience3 years leading a procurement team within a manufacturing environmentExperience in managing Supplier Development Programs to improve OTD, Quality and ServicePrevious experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliersMust be able to mitigate Single Source Suppliers by identifying alternatives in the industryBroad commodity sourcing knowledgeDemonstrate ability to visualize and manage the implementation of creative solutions and respond appropriately and timely to customer needsProven customer service, project management, analytical, leadership, negotiation, problem solving, contracts and financial skillsSolid change management and conflict management skillsExcellent communications, facilitation, and presentation skillsProficient in standard business enterprise softwareProficient in MS office programsExcellent analytical, problem solving organizational and project management skillsExcellent oral sitting, seeing, hearing, writing and speaking greater than 66%.Preferred Qualifications:5 years of experience in Metal Casting Industry and/or Injection Molding IndustryCPSM or national certification
