All while understanding that together we are even better.Schedule: FTShift : Monday-Thursday-Friday-Saturday 0900-1930 (10 hours).The community youll be caring for:AdventHealth Apopka is a seven-story, 120-bed hospital offering an extensive range of services including expanded surgical services, advanced surgical suites and a catheterization labThe hospital also features a 30,000-square-foot emergency department with pediatric-friendly beds, imaging services, a full-service cafeteria, chapel, gift shop and on-site fire stationThe hospital opened in December 2017, replacing the 50-bed hospital that AdventHealth had operated in downtown Apopka for more than four decadesThe role youll contribute:Evaluates, develops an appropriate plan of care, and treats patients who present with bodily impairments and functionallimitations as medically prescribed.The value youll bring to the team:Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluate muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systemsDesigns and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient's needs. Monitors patient's response and progress to treatment and modifies treatment plan as appropriateDocuments and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policies and proceduresProvides discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and follow up servicesCommunicates appropriately and effectively with patients, family and healthcare professionals within and across care settings and communitiesOversees the care provided by physical therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standardsMeets productivity standard as defined by department Attends department meetings and education as requiredPractices principles of professional development and performance improvements by maintaining clinical knowledge, using best and or evidence-based practices, and serving as a Clinical instructorEducates patients, family members, and caregivers about identifying needsMay assist as required to market physical therapy program in the hospital and communityWillingly adjust and adapt to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/ programs as needed/ approved and observed by managerPerforms other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:Entry level competency of physical therapy practice, theory, principles, and applications as defined in competency/department policiesMust be able to read, write and speak conversational EnglishBasic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft OfficeQualificationsWhat you will need to succeed:LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION: REQUIRED:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained before employee starts patient careLicensed in applicable state as a Physical Therapist OR Temporary State permit as Physical TherapistThis facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
