ORLANDO HEALTH SOUTH SEMINOLE HOSPITALLocated in Longwood, Florida, Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital is a comprehensive medical, surgical and behavioral health facility with 126 acute-care beds and 80 inpatient behavioral health beds. Orlando Health South Seminole has a 30-bed ER, surgical department, endoscopy center and diagnostic cardiac catheterization laboratory. Position Summary:

The Laboratory Supervisor performs a variety of supervisory functions, directing the daily operational activities of the Client Services Department assuring that all standards are met by making personal daily rounds, signing reports and responding to all service or customer requests.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions• Helps develops and maintains an ongoing relationship with the Laboratory clients and with all nursing departments to support and identifying opportunities that impact patient care.• Regularly coordinates laboratory activities at Health Fairs, and Public functions internally or community based.• Demonstrates a positive and professional approach and communicates effectively with customers and team members at all times to identify and resolve service problems.• Oversees department training process• Researches and presents significant trends in Client Service to management.• Ensures team compliance with all corporate education and recertification requirements• Ensures staff and department compliance with federal, state and hospital regulatory requirements related to compliance.• Has a thorough knowledge of laboratory processes, including billing, compliance, computer services, sales and marketing.• Maintains current knowledge of assessment tools and procedures, pertinent research and test instruments necessary for best practices.• Kronos scheduling and payroll for assigned Laboratory team• Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/TrainingAssociates degree in area(s) of laboratory, health care or related field.

Licensure/CertificationNone.

ExperienceFour (4) years of experience in laboratory or health related field. A bachelor's degree may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
