Palm Shores is hiring a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to join our clinical team!As the Recreational Therapist you will plan and implement an activities program including but not limited to therapeutic leisure skills and activities, leisure education and leisure awareness. Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games and community outings. Help patients learn social skills needed to become or remain independent. Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups. Help patients learn social skills needed to become or remain independent. provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11-17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy or related field requiredCertified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist: CTRS certification or
currently in the process of obtaining national certification; OR certified in the area of specialty (Art, Dance, Music, etc.).Must be able to read, understand, and follow: policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 7 days of employment.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
