General job duties, responsibilities, and expectations.• Responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership for non-oncology clinical research portfolios and teams within the Sioux Falls region• Manage staff and activities for the clinical research department with an operational focuso Up to 10 departments/portfolios with 15-20 direct reports (with potential for growth)• Establish communication and develop meaningful and collaborative working relationships throughout the clinical research team and health service departments• Ensures the completion of study activities in compliance with protocol and the regulations governing clinical research• Supports project initiatives and works closely with key stakeholders and physicians for implementation and support of clinical trials
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Are there specific computer programs used?)• EPIC• OnCore• Microsoft Suite - Excel• Smartsheet
Required skills, education, and minimum years of experience.• Base knowledge of clinical research, experience in clinical research management or as a clinical research coordinator ideal• Prior management experience in healthcare setting preferred• Strong leadership skills with a strength in communication skills• Prefer a bachelor's degree• Recommend at least 5 years of prior experience in clinical research or management in relevant setting
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)• Exempt position - full time, 80 hours per pay period• Typically 8am-4:30pm M-F schedule, but able to flex hours as appropriate• May need to be available for occasional meetings outside set working hours• No call required, but expected to be available occasionally for emergency situations• Will work with a small team of managers, but will work alone at times
