Job Summary
The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking outstanding candidates for a position of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine starting in the summer of 2024. The Department of Radiation Medicine is a vital part of UK Markey Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Cancer Center. The department has vibrant clinical practice with outstanding technology, facilities, and medical physics support as well as active transitional and clinical research programs, within the context of a vibrant and robust healthcare enterprise. Fully accredited and well regarded residency programs in radiation oncology and medical physics, as well as Masters and PhD programs in Medical Physics are integral to the department's mission and culture.
Currently the department provides the entire range of radiation oncology services, including IMRT, Gamma Knife and body radiosurgery, high and low dose-rate brachytherapy, TBI and total skin electron irradiation, etc. The Department has completed an aggressive building program to augment its state-of-the-art facilities and technology to include a dedicated brachytherapy suite with CT-on-rails, and Halcyon, the latest Varian technology. The Department also provides radiation oncology services at satellite locations.
The faculty member will serve under the direction of the Chair, Department of Radiation Medicine and will also participate in multidisciplinary clinics involving the department.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Serve as a full-time member of the Department of Radiation Medicine.
2. The faculty member will have primary responsibility in patient care services.
3. The faculty member will demonstrate potential for excellence as a teacher and clinician with evidences of high professional status and potential for local/state recognition.
4. Collaboration as a co-investor with other faculty members in the Department of Radiation Medicine in ongoing projects of an investigative nature.
