Primary Purpose:
Supervise employees to maintain high standards of quality in food preparation and other kitchen operations. Ensure that employees comply with sanitation and safety practices. Order food, complete accurate production records, manage staff schedules, inventory of food supplies, expedite service during busy periods by assisting in serving customers.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Must have a Food Manager Certification
High School diploma or GED.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Detailed oriented and knowledge about food health and safety.
Must be able to multi-task as well as demonstrate excellent leadership skills, problem solving, and customer service.
Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures
Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment
Ability to perform basic math
Experience:
5 years of experience in the food industry
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Food Preparation and Serving
Prepare quality food according to a planned menu and uniform recipes.
Serve food according to TDA policies and procedures, and practice and promote portion control to help with food waste
Store and handle food items and supplies safely and according to established procedures. Maintain a clean and organized storage area.
Ability to train employees
Report to the food service director
Safety and Sanitation
Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards and follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
Have weekly safety meetings with staff.
Maintain and organize a cleaning schedule.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
Maintain personal appearance and hygiene.
Other
Handle and record cashier functions accurately.
Place food and supply orders.
Maintain daily food preparation records.
Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members.
Complete annual Professional standards from TDA.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
