Job Description SummaryThe Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), located in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases are seeking a full-time academic endocrine specialist in thyroid neoplasms to participate in clinical care, research and teaching. Applicants must be Board Certified in Endocrinology and have experience in this area of focus. Preference will be placed towards clinician scientists who have an active research focus in thyroid neoplasms.
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases at MUSC has a distinguished history of clinical, translational, and basic research as well as a reputation of excellence in clinical care and education. Now under the new leadership of Dr. Marc-Andre Cornier, the Division is looking to expand on its clinical services and research in thyroid neoplasms.
The successful applicant will treat patients with a full spectrum of thyroid neoplasms, including evaluation and treatment of thyroid nodule disease using ultrasound and fine needle aspiration and the treatment of complex thyroid cancers. This individual will work closely with and support other providers, including endocrinologists, general surgeons, head & neck surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, advanced practice providers, and fellows. Teaching duties will focus on education of the endocrinology fellows in training and of rotating residents and medical students.
The successful candidate will hold an academic rank commensurate with experience.
