Job Summary: The Director of Finance oversees all financial operations, providing strategic financial leadership and guidance to ensure the company meets its financial goals and aligns with long-term objectives. This role involves managing financial planning, analysis, reporting, compliance, risk management, and budget control while ensuring effective financial decision-making across the organization.Location: 5915 Broadway, Denver, CO, 80216- this is NOT remote opportunitySupervisory Responsibilities:Lead and manage the accounting department to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in financial operations, aligning with organizational goals.Evaluate team performance, identify areas for improvement or advancement, and establish goals and training plans to support growth and development.Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and discipline for accounting personnel.Direct cash management activities to ensure optimal use and timely availability of funds.Duties/Responsibilities:Develop and implement financial strategies that align with company goals.Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practicesLead financial forecasting, budgeting, analysis, reporting, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.Manage daily operations of the finance department, including accounting, invoicing, and financial reporting.Ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations, maintaining accurate records and adherence to internal policies.Establish, oversee, and audit internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, asset inventories, payroll, and employee records.Ensure timely payment of licenses, permits, regulatory contracts, taxes, and insurances through coordination with third-party stakeholders.Implement strategies to optimize cash flow, minimize financing costs, and mitigate financial risks.Lead the budgeting process across departments and monitor adherence to budgets.Analyze financial performance against forecasts and budgets, recommending corrective actions when necessary.Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring organizational resilience.Manage relationships with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, investors, and financial institutionsSupport fundraising and investor relations activities.Collaborate with the Executive Committee to develop the annual budget.Perform other duties as assigned.Experience and Education:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred).8-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven experience in financial strategy, analysis, and reporting.Strong knowledge of financial regulations and risk management practices.Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools such as Quickbooks, Bill.com, and Mercury.Preferred certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Financial Risk Manager (FRM).Proven track record of successfully managing financial operations in a fast-paced environmentPhysical Requirements:Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for long periodsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Deadline to apply: 10/10/24
