Job Description

The

Ops Coordinator HIM

reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:Responds to NMHC physicians, clinicians, support staff, patient issues and concerns relating to the use of systems and the dissemination of clinical results.Provides system support to ancillary systemsCoordinates the implementation of department specific projects; leads system testing and staff training effortsProvides an ongoing review of changes made by various regulatory organizations and develops procedures and guidelines to maintain compliance with all standards.Compiles productivity and quality statistics for all areas within the HIM department, and reports the results to HIM ManagementProvides day-to-day monitoring of staffing levels and work activity, and supports HIM management.Management Responsibility:

This position will not have direct reports.Travel to all HIMS locations 3 days/month for a minimum of 4 hours per visit or as otherwise specified by the department manager; Lake Forest, Central, CDH, Marianjoy, Delnor, Kishwaukee, Valley West and future locations.Monitors all areas of HIM responsibilities pertaining to the compliance with regulatory group standards.Population Served:

Internal:

Communicates daily with physicians, patients, researchers, and administrative staff on various issues; works closely with IS support areas in resolving HIM Remedy issues.

External:

Communicates with computer system vendors as needed for software support, State representatives and other vendors related to transcription and release of information functions.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelors degree in related field or medical certification in related area.5 years experience in most HIM functions or in related field preferred.Demonstrated attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong Microsoft Excel skills.Preferred:

RHIT/RHIA credentialed.Supervisory experience.
