Rose Cay Maritime is in search of a Lead Tankerman to add to our growing team. We are looking for Lead Tankermen with a minimum of 1- 2years experience on tugboats. We currently have openings in the Northeast/Gulf!
Responsibilities:Assures vessel is manned and operated in accordance with USCG vessel manning requirements.Makes sure all crew fully implement and operate the vessel in compliance with the classification society approved SMS.Maintains all vessel certificates and record books and advises the Master in advance of certificate inspections and due dates.Ensures maintenance and required inspections are completed with consultation with the Chief Engineer. Identifies additional inspections and/or maintenance required and assigns to vessel crew as applicable.Maintains records of maintenance and inspections. Reports any instance that an inspection or maintenance activity can not be completed to Chief Engineer, vessel Master, or Shoreside personnel.Responsible for setting and maintaining work schedules for the crew that will accommodate vessel needs and comply with regulatory restrictions (work rest hours).Maintains high standards of sanitary living conditions, food storage and preparation, as well as makes sure there is an adequate supply of potable water onboard the barge.Designated Person In Charge (PIC) for cargo operations.Ensures safe and efficient transfer of cargo to and from the vessel in accordance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.Ensures their Tankerman is competent to perform all scheduled cargo transfers on his watch.Reviews load/discharge procedures for each transfer with Tankerman(s) to ensure understanding of the operation.Ensures that all transfer procedures are followed, and provides cargo documents and information to the company as required.Reports SMS deficiencies to HSSEQ, Vessel Master, or DPA.Knowledgeable in security duties outlined in the Vessel Security Plan.

Must have Tankerman PIC.
Minimum 1-2 years Lead Tankerman/Barge Captain Experience.
Must have current, up to date USCG Merchant Mariner Credential, Passport, STCW and TWIC card.
Able to be medically fit for duty upon pre-employment physical, annual physical, and drug screening, as well as participate in a background check.
High School diploma or equivalent.
