Job Summary:
The
Finance Manager
will manage the overall financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning. This position requires strong leadership to guide the finance team, oversee budgeting processes, manage financial risks, and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making. This role will oversee two direct reports, comfortability working with a global team is important to be successful.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis :
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely reconciliations and accurate reporting.Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting.Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Budgeting & Forecasting :
Lead the preparation of annual budgets, including department-level budgets, and track performance against them.Compare actuals to forecasts and budgets, providing variance analysis and recommending adjustments.Work closely with department heads to monitor financial performance and provide support on financial matters.
Compliance & Risk Management :
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and financial audits.Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process to ensure proper documentation and compliance.Implement and manage internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Team Leadership & Development :
Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting teams, providing guidance and support to ensure the department meets its goals.Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll-in partnership with HR, and tax functions.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance team.
Strategic Financial Planning :
Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term financial strategies.Provide financial insights and recommendations on business strategies, investment opportunities, and potential risks.Oversee cash management and investment strategies, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
Special Projects :
Lead financial initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and profitability.Participate in or lead special mergers, acquisitions, or new business venture projects.
Required Qualifications:
Education : A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required; a CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.Experience :
8+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, preferably in a managerial role.Strong familiarity with US GAAP and financial software applications (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP Arriba, Bill.com, inFlow).Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.Experience working with international teams and handling global financial processes - in India, is a plus.
