NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Afterschool Director will lead, plan, administer and evaluate the After School programs. In addition, the incumbent will provide the day-to-day supervision of all staff/volunteers related to the overall afterschool department.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Design and implementation of the afterschool programs and for meeting and exceeding of the approved branch revenue.Provide oversight and management of branch grant program to ensure and implement all grant standards, policies, and budget are met.Develop and implement a plan to promote and recruit new participants and community partnerships.Implement and ensure all required Y and licensing childcare standards and policies are met at each location.Conduct pilots for new programs; develop plans and manage best practices through engagement of the staff team.Effectively manage budgets; hold staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the After School Departments for multiple branch employees and volunteers.Foster a climate of innovation and model a high level of member/customer service.Monitor progress towards branch's goals by running and reviewing all necessary reports.Coordinate marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to the Executive Director on related issues.Collaborate with the Association key departments to lead, coordinate, and support implementation of key initiatives related to marketing, social media and communications, human resources, and financial development.Serve as a staff leader to the annual fundraising campaign.Actively participate and lead designated meetings, training sessions, and special events.Maintain accurate records, pertaining to licensing requirements, staff and child health and safety.REQUIREMENTS:
High School or GED and 4+ years of experience in education OR a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of working in education1+ years of supervisory responsibilitiesAbility to effectively communicate and manage information to program participants, community leaders, and volunteers and staff of all agesAbility to establish, collaborate and maintain relationships with all stakeholdersExcellent attention to detail, follow-through, and execution on grant obligations.Proficient knowledge of computers, various technology, and applicationsAbility to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skillsMust be able to obtain within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens trainingMust pass Bright From the Start (BFTS) background checkPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
