Position Overview (Summary/Objective):
As part of our Defense Systems Assembly Group, the Assembly Manufacturing Technician will have the exciting opportunity to work with high precision electrical products. This position is at the front line of our semiconductor device fabrication process and in this role, the technician will have the opportunity to be mentored and work hands-on in a lab environment within a growing and evolving aerospace company.
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Working to written standard work instructions to setup and run wafer fabrication/micro assembly processes within a regulated clean room environment
Monitor and evaluate wafer production results and promptly report on anomalous findings
Perform wafer fabrication manufacturing tasks associated with photolithography, lift-off, thin-film deposition, wet chemical etching, and other semiconductor processes
Operate equipment required for wafer fabrication processes including mask aligner, plasma cleaner, furnace, PECVD, etc.
Perform manual micro assembly processes including die mount, wire bonding, and optical bonding.
Perform precise alignments as part of micro assembly and masking operations.
Aid Manufacturing Engineering in root cause analysis efforts
Willingness to assist team members to maintain productivity and efficiency for organizational objectives
Record completion of work and key parameters in build documentation or electronic build record system.
Follow all safety and EHS protocols and follow all PPE requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Required:
5+ years of manufacturing related experience: semiconductor experience preferred
Experience with at least one of the following fabrication methods: micro assembly, wafer processing, or window photolithography
Demonstrate initiative with a curiosity and aptitude to learn.
Ability to speak up as appropriate and escalate issues as required.
Must be able to work independently and demonstrate an extremely high level of precision and accuracy with a high attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a high degree of flexibility and assist others as needed.
Ability to work comfortably under a microscope and have the willingness to learn new technologies.
Must be comfortable working with solvents and acids
Solid interpersonal communication skills and basic computer proficiency required
Experience grinding or polishing small optics is a plus
