Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Director of Operations & Technology is responsible for leading the overall strategic development and execution of Operations & Technology for the Credit Union. This position formulates strategies and directs action plans to meet St. Mary's Bank strategies and business objectives as outlined in the annual business plan.
Standards of Performance and Goals:
Oversee deposit and electronic operations to ensure the overall activities of the electronic delivery channels (online banking, eStatements, bill pay, business online services, remote deposit capture and mobile banking), deposit products (CD, IRA, deposit checking and saving accounts, ACH, ATM/Debit card processing) are conducted with high quality, in an efficient manner and well support. Ensures that the combination of staff, process design and technology support meet regulatory guidelines while minimizing member impact and credit union exposure.
Oversee all IT functions including those necessary to provide a stable, operational, and available technology infrastructure with adequate redundancies and a disaster recovery protocol in accordance with generally accepted principles, policies, and procedures. Support the continuous improvement of technology capability, availability, effectiveness, and reliability.
Oversee business application support functions, effective system administration, maintenance, and vendor management. Along with business application management and staff, support the effective utilization of systems in support of the credit union's strategic objectives and annual business objectives.
Implement an effective technology management function in a highly regulated environment. Lead the IT Steering Committee, ensuring timely and thorough reporting of technology operations, compliance with the regulatory environment and continual improvement of availability, security, confidentiality, service levels for Technology Support, Infrastructure Management and Business Application support.
Implements an effective strategic direction for the day-to-day operations and technology support functions at SMB. This includes but is not limited to identifying business trends, assumptions, tactics and strategies, annually crafting business objectives, aligning the direction of departments to ensure execution of the credit union business plan, conducting Board and Executive level presentations and participation on the Strategic Planning team that include monthly meetings and annual retreat.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or equivalent required, master's degree highly desirable with a minimum of 10 years of strong experience in an operations management, information technology and/or advanced knowledge of financial/banking environment.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of state and federal banking laws, rules, and regulations as it relates to deposit and electronic operations and loan servicing.
Excellent leadership and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior executive leaders to set corporate priorities, develop strategic plans and set operating budgets.
Highly effective interpersonal skills including the ability to interact and collaborate with diverse teams and individuals, motivate and influence others both internally and externally.
Must be able to deal effectively with compliance issues and regulatory enforcement while maintaining appropriate balance between member service, operational efficiency, and risk.
Superb organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Ability to lead and motivate teams and communicate at the highest levels, both written and verbally.
Must present a positive, professional image on behalf of the credit union as well as present it to the Board of Directors, Senior Management, and all levels of the Credit Union.
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Effective PC skills (Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel) required.
Ability to travel on behalf of the credit union, as required.
