Data Collection:Unit Information: LewisGale Medical CenterLocation: Salem, VAAddress: 1900 Electric RoadFloor: Emergency DepartmentBuilding: General InformationTell us about the unit(s):Number of Beds - 27Number of Staff - 50 RN/25 MedicsType of staff:Day Shift - 1 charge, 5 RN, 2-3 medics; increase by 4-5 RN at 11am; increase by 1-2 RN at 3pmNight Shift - 1 charge, 5 RN, 2-3 medicsPatient Ratios - 4-6:1Type of equipment -EMR - MeditechTypical hiring profileSkill Set Most recruited for: Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.Must have completed 2-3 travel assignmentsMust have 2-3 years ER experiencePreferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.High acuity ERs, fast paced ERs with high volumeExperience with patient ratios of 5:1List typical procedures performed on unit(s):RSI, Sepsis interventions, Stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, care of the psych patient, transfers to other facilities (EMTALA),•Best personality Fit:Relaxed, easy going, friendly, team oriented, respectful. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:BLS, ACLS, PALS; Preferred: TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIH Floating Area(s):NoneDress Code:Scrub Color/Attire - navy blue or whiteUnit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.•Weekends and On call(if any)No on call.Weekends are four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) in a four week scheduling period
