JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for supporting the initiatives of the Safety and Emergency Planning and Preparedness (EPP) Division. Accurately and timely tracks and reports Safety and EPP program performance indicators, such as trending leading indicators, training, emergency events, and electrical utility best practice utilizing software, database, spreadsheet applications, and other tools. Maintains, monitors, analyzes and synthesizes data from various sources, including safety events reported through the SAP Environmental Health and Safety Management system, and use findings to optimize processes and develop stronger, more effective business strategies to enhance the organization's safety culture. Supports the department in the planning, development, monitoring, communication, and implementation of Safety and EPP programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local occupational safety and health laws, regulations, codes, and standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Gathers requirements, develops metrics, retrieves data, and ensures validity of results. Tracks information within division software and other related databases. Leads, creates, and validates reports and dashboards to best communicate data and performance of programs and initiatives. Develops appropriate data solutions (dashboards, reports, tools) and data analysis for the measurement of processes and outcomes. Develops and prepare scorecards, dashboards and summary reports showing high-level results and trends appropriate for different internal and external audiences. Conducts cross-validation, data cleansing and quality checks for extracted data. Trains stakeholders on how to interpret reports and data, as necessary, using the appropriate level for the intended audience.Interprets and analyzes raw data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and other helpful information for key decision making to enhance and improve safety programs and culture. Performs complex data mining for new business insights; interpret data; draw conclusions; communicate findings to relevant stakeholders. Use data to develop and optimize strategies and processes, increase efficiency, quality, and ensure compliance. Recommends, implements, and audits best practices related to data usage, reporting standards, dashboard formats, visualization style, and analysis methods. Compile monthly safety tracking data report for management. Produces other safety reports as needed.Creates and maintains Safety and EPP related Power BI, Power Apps, and SharePoint sites. Collaborates with IT and business units to advance Safety and EPP reporting capabilities and improve accuracy of data. Assists the Safety Program Manager and Safety and EPP Managers with computer-related tasks. Works with power users and end users in developing appropriate reports. Leads mapping/blueprinting, testing, and evaluation of new software and software updates and fixes that is vital to the success of the organization's safety culture and its programs and policies. Leads troubleshooting and debugging efforts.Coordinates the production of the division safety alerts/notices and newsletter. Ensures compliance with occupational health and safety reporting requirements, such as complete required regulatory forms and reporting (e.g., OSHA 300A, 300, and 301) and recordkeeping requirements.Supports the Managers in the development of systems, processes, and procedures to facilitate the smooth and effective functioning of the Division. In support of continuous improvement goals and objectives, participates in projects and studies to improve existing practices, procedures, programs, policies, and training curricula and materials. Knowledge Requirements
