Supply Chain Planning Manager (Starlink) at SpaceX

Bastrop, TX

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING MANAGER (STARLINK)

SpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. Enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will provide fast, reliable internet to populations with little or no connectivity, including those in rural communities and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable. A Supply Chain Planning Manager makes this possible by coordinating closely with engineering, procurement, production, and logistics to ensure we have the supply to manufacture the right quantity and configurations of products to satisfy our global customer demand. We are looking for a detail-oriented problem-solver that can manage both new product introduction and stable high-volume products, implement novel processes and solutions to help scale our business, and clearly communicate potential risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders and senior leaders

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own the end-to-end planning lifecycle for Starlink Product sub-assemblies or finished goods, from accurate bill of material requirements, appropriate supply coverage, and timely configuration management to satisfy global consumer and enterprise demand

Manage the supply schedule for $100Ms of raw material and finished goods in order to optimize days on hand and inventory turns, minimize obsolescence, and enable the production line to output at full rate

Balance a spectrum of both new product introduction (NPI) with rapid iteration and design changes as well as stable production with annual volumes in the hundreds of thousands and eventually in the millions

Engage with the go-to-market team for new country launches to ensure that we have the required product configurations in the build plan or in finished goods to support initial rollout

Partner with engineering and production teams to effectively incorporate design or process changes seamlessly into the production line without impacting output

Identify potential supply risks and coordinate with the appropriate stakeholders (procurement, logistics, engineering, etc.) to propose creative solutions and drive to closure

Support insourcing efforts where applicable to guarantee constant supply from internal and external sources to enable overall production targets

Assess and monitor supply base capacity and constraints at primary and sub-tiers suppliers to inform program scenario planning and mitigate potential challenges when ramping a product line

Maintain part and planning master data to accurately reflect lead-times, manufacturing allocations, yields and attrition, offsets, order policy, and other parameters

Define and incorporate new process and best practices as the program scales, leveraging learnings from world-class manufacturers and other high-volume industries

Develop applications, reporting, and dashboards to measure team KPIs and support the business as it scales from hundreds of thousands to millions of global customers
