Summary: The candidate is responsible for the assembly of complex cable and wire harness assemblies. The candidate must demonstrate quality workmanship and produce high quality assemblies that exceed our customer’s expectations, in accordance with industry standards.
Job Duties:
Ability to read and follow wire harness assembly instructions/blueprints
Cut and strip wire to specifications
Crimp terminals to wire ends
Install and shrink insulation sleeving
Install cable ties
Route, wire, and assemble electronic components using wire layout fixtures
Operate equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers
Conducts functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using friendly test fixtures
Use of a solder iron to solder wires to switches or connectors
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products
Work with minimal supervision from the Production Department Supervisor
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Wire/Cable harness assembly experience is a must
Familiar with IPC J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing/assembly line
Expected to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings
Expected to communicate well in English both verbally and in written format
Candidates should be very organized with the ability to keep count of parts
Candidates should have the ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Education:
High school diploma
associate Degree (preferred)
