Summary of Position:
Under the direct supervision of a licensed attorney, Litigation Assistants provide a broad range of support functions including drafting, revising, and filing court pleadings and discovery, assisting with the resolution of contested matters, and keeping the firm's clients fully informed of the status of litigated matters.
Description of Duties:
Working with an associate attorney on litigated mattersPreparing court filingsScheduling hearing coverageOrdering recordsMaintaining deadlines and calendarsUpdating clients on the status of litigated casesExperience and Skills:
1 to 2 years of litigation paralegal or litigation assistant experienceExcellent communication and organizational skills.Extremely detail oriented.Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.Basic familiarity with state and federal court rules.Succeeds in working in a fast-paced, high-volume, team environment.Proficient with filing documents in both state and federal courts.Experience working with secured mortgage lenders/servicers preferred
Work Schedule:
The work week is typically Monday through Friday, with business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
