Position Overview:
The Supply Planner will be responsible for managing and optimizing the production planning of finished goods across multiple internal and external manufacturing facilities. This role will focus on ensuring a smooth flow of Nordic Naturals products through the supply chain, balancing production capacity with customer demand. The ideal candidate will have experience using advanced planning systems such as O9, Logility, OMP, Blue Yonder, or Kinaxis and have a strong understanding of both traditional and e-commerce fulfillment and distribution processes.
Key Responsibilities:• Production Planning & Coordination:• Develop and manage production schedules across multiple internal and external manufacturing facilities to ensure timely fulfillment of customer demand.• Coordinate with contract manufacturers to align production plans, manage lead times, and ensure the timely delivery of finished goods.• Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to account for delays, changes in demand, or capacity constraints.• Planning System Utilization:• Leverage advanced planning systems such as O9, Logility, OMP, Blue Yonder, or Kinaxis to generate and maintain optimal production and supply plans.• Utilize system analytics to balance production capacities with forecasted demand and identify potential bottlenecks or opportunities for optimization.• Continuously improve the planning process by refining system inputs and collaborating with stakeholders to increase forecast accuracy.• E-Commerce Fulfillment & Distribution Support:• Ensure that production plans align with both traditional retail distribution and e-commerce fulfillment requirements, ensuring the timely production and delivery of finished goods for direct-to-consumer channels.• Collaborate with e-commerce fulfillment teams to anticipate demand spikes during promotions and adjust production schedules accordingly.• Manage inventory availability to meet both online and retail customer orders, minimizing stockouts and ensuring optimal service levels.• Inventory Management & Optimization:• Maintain appropriate levels of finished goods inventory across distribution centers, balancing supply with customer demand to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.• Monitor inventory turnover and collaborate with the demand planning team to adjust production schedules based on consumption patterns.• Ensure alignment of production schedules with raw material availability, working closely with procurement teams to mitigate any potential supply chain disruptions.• Cross-Functional Collaboration:• Work closely with internal manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, and procurement teams to ensure smooth production flows and timely delivery of raw materials.• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and demand planning teams to ensure production plans align with promotions, product launches, and seasonal demand fluctuations.• Communicate regularly with logistics and distribution teams to ensure the timely shipment of finished goods and troubleshoot any issues that may impact fulfillment.• Data Analysis & Reporting:• Analyze production and supply chain data to track Nordic Naturals key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, inventory turnover, and on-time delivery.• Generate and present regular reports to senior management highlighting production performance, inventory status, and areas for improvement.• Identify opportunities for process improvements or cost savings through data-driven insights.
Continuous Improvement:• Participate in supply chain optimization initiatives aimed at improving production efficiency, reducing lead times, and enhancing service levels.• Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies in supply chain and production planning to drive innovation within the team.
Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics. From a 4 year accredited university.• 4-7 years of experience in supply planning, production planning, ideally in a manufacturing environment.• Experience working with advanced planning systems such as SAP APO, Oracle APS, O9, Logility, OMP, Blue Yonder, or Kinaxis is required.• Experience with Supply planning for internal manufacturing and external manufacturing at third party locations.• Experience with e-commerce fulfillment and distribution processes, including understanding the unique demands of direct-to-consumer channels.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.• Proficiency in SAP or Oracle ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis.• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications:• Experience in the supplement, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing industries.• APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
Pay, Benefits & Perks:The estimated salary pay is $80,000 to $95,000. This pay is an estimate, and the exact compensation may vary depending on an applicant's location, skills, prior experience, professional qualifications, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may also include incentive compensation (i.e. bonus or commission) if applicable.
