For over 20 years, Visiting Physician Services has been bringing modern medicine into the comfort and privacy of your home.Visiting Physician Services specializes in treating adult and geriatric homebound patients. We make house calls to private residences, senior housing buildings and assisted living facilities in Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex, Somerset, Union, Essex, Passaic, and Bergen Counties.
Our practice is comprised of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with the mission of treating elderly, frail, homebound patients with dignity and compassion .
We are currently looking for a
Physician
to join our team on a
per diem / per visit basis
in our
Bergen / Passaic County Territory, near Clifton, NJ . The position would be responsible for providing delivery of high quality care practices in the treatment of symptoms and promoting the highest quality of life for homebound patients and their families.
ResponsibilitiesAmong the key responsibilities of this Physician position:
Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
Provides direct medical services and consultation to primary care homebound patients within established productivity guidelines
Monitors the patient’s condition and responsiveness to the treatment provided
Maintains complete patient records using the Electronic Medical record and complies with all reporting mechanisms
Ensures compliance with the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Ambulatory Care Regulations for Licensure as well as requirements of other licensing and accrediting bodies, health maintenance organizations and other insurance carriers
Acts as an agency representative with patients and their families as well as with other health agencies, groups and organizations
Collaborates in the provision of formal and informal education for staff
Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies, and guidelines of regulatory agencies
Participates in community outreach programs when appropriate
Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Physician position will have the following qualifications:
Licensed as a physician in New Jersey with education and experience in primary care settings
Geriatric experience recommended
Board certified in family practice or internal medicine
Active CDS and DEA license
Car and valid NJ driver’s license
Working Conditions/Physical Demand : Traveling to patients' homes. Exposure to blood, body fluids and communicable diseases. Sitting, fine motor hand movement, standing, walking, lifting 40 pounds, pushing, reaching, pulling.
