What You Will Do:

Provides diagnostic and therapy services for patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. May include inpatient, outpatient, or outside services.

Treats individuals with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders to assist in reaching their maximum level of functioning.

Provides direct service to inpatient, outpatient, and outside services including speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing deficits by means of recognized assessment and treatment procedures, and assists them in reaching their maximum level of functioning.

Instructs patient and/or family in home treatment program and assists them in adjustment to their communication disability.

Maintains adequate patient records and appropriate documentation according to policy.

Participates in patient care conferences as required. Participates in conferences with the Director, Speech-Language Pathologist, and other team members as needed.

Maintains close working relationship with the health care teams in both assessment and treatment activities.

Displays positive patient/family/staff relations in performance of duties.

Determines priority in workload per job description and pre-established performance goals; ensures that assignments are completed by required deadline.

Demonstrates commitment to professional growth through pursuit of continuing education activities and/ or professional development in order to provide optimal service to clients.

Regularly demonstrates the ability to serve patients of all ages in the routine performance of duties.

Maintains equipment and supplies.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of speech-language pathology.

What You Will Need:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence, licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.

One year experience in a medical setting preferred.

Ability to understand and communicate effectively in both written and oral form.

Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.

Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of medical center emergency codes.

Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.

Successful completion of a one hundred eighty (180) day probationary period.
