Summary:

Operating the SMT assembly equipment accordance with manufacturing specifications and production schedules. Recommend product and process improvements with respect to cost, quality, and cycle time.

Principal Accountabilities:Assemble parts according to prints, process sheets, and/or other relevant documentation.Ability to work well as a team member.Operating SMT equipment for a dedicated product: dispensing, paste printing, placement, and reflow process.Visual inspection of assemblies using magnifying lamps and microscopes.Inspect assemblies to IPC-A-610 requirements, verify component marking, values and orientations.Identify defects and record defects in data collection system.Ensure production tracking documents are completed properly.Load/Unload parts for cleaning in an automated system.Operate AOI system and address results contacting PD manager as needed.Perform hand placement and/or hand soldering of through-hole and SMT components as needed.Assist with material replenishment as needed.Operators may receive training on specialized equipment or custom assembly fixtures.General housekeeping of workstations and assembly lines.Pack and/or unpack material and/or assemblies.May perform basic testing of sub-assemblies as required to verify properties prior to final assembly.Performs other duties as required.Minimum Requirements:

Able to interpret and understand the instructions on process sheets, prints or route cards.Preferred Skills and Education

High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ years related assembly experiencePreferred experience working on a surface mount technology line (SMT) and able to understand the inputs and outputs of the SMT line.Must be dependable and possess an excellent work ethic.Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods.The employee must occasionally move heavy objects.The noise level in this type of work environment is usually loud; where necessary, hearing protection equipment is provided.

Target Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00/hr - $19.75/hr + Robust Benefits
