General Purpose:

Scholars Unlimited is a community-based non-profit program helping young learners master critical literacy skills. Our mission is to foster academic, social, and emotional growth for children living in metro Denver communities. Our after-school program is geared toward grades K-5 and includes reading, SEL, STEM, and recreation/enrichment components. These programs are educational, engaging, and effective.

The Site Director will manage and lead site-based extended learning, enrichment, and family literacy programs at public elementary schools. This position is responsible for coordinating, planning, and implementing activities for the K-5 after school program. Serving as the main point of contact, this person manages the day-to-day operations, supervises site staff personnel, and supports staff in the daily implementation of programs. The Site Director reports to the Multi Site Manager.

The Scholars Unlimited after school program will start

September 9, 2024, and end May 9, 2025 . The program will be held in our partner schools in Northeast Denver, Southwest Denver, Central Denver, North Aurora, Sheridan, and Westminster. Hours of the program will vary with the school's dismissal bell times. Typically, the hours may start as early as 1:15 pm and go as late as 6:00 pm.

The Site Director position can work up to 4 hrs per day with a total of 20 hrs per week.

Essential Functions:Manage the overall coordination and operation of the afterschool program.Manage Site Staff and ensure they are on task managing their classroomsCommunicate with facilities, food services, front office staff, and enrichment providers as necessaryEvaluate and document student growth and development, relaying information to parents/guardians through both oral and written communication when neededMaintain accurate student files (medical records, permission slips, etc.)Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, and notify supervisor of any hazards/security issues as soon as possible.Respond to emergency situations as required, and maintain accurate reportingProvide first aid, and administer medication as neededBe the first point of contact, and act as a liaison between students, parents/guardians and site staff to address any issues or concerns that ariseAct as a substitute for any of the site staff positions when necessaryMaintain stock of necessary suppliesAdhere to Colorado child care licensing rules and regulationsAdhere to all policies and procedures, and implementing the best practices of Scholars Unlimited as stated in the Scholars Unlimited Employee HandbookPerforms other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of Scholars UnlimitedSupervisory Duties:

Supervise Site Staff (Academic Specialist, Aide, Literacy Teacher, and Youth Development Instructor) in the performance of their duties, including but not limited to, delegating, counseling, coaching, performance feedback and training.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age per Colorado child care licensing rules and regulationsMust possess current CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration certificates or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire dateMust possess all child care licensing certifications within 30 days of hire date.Must attend and complete all paid training requirementsMust be able to work the program scheduled hoursMust complete and pass criminal history background checks

to the start of employmentExperience:

Two or more years experience in managing after school programs, which includes supervising staff, and experience working in education, child development, and/or recreation management.Proven experience as a supervisor or in a similar managerial roleKnowledge, experience, and expertise in youth development, behavior management, and enrichment programs.Experience working with elementary-aged childrenKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
