The Department of Pharmacy, consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, places a priority on teaching, research and patient care. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, the department is responsible for providing acute care pharmacy services for a diverse population of medical and surgical patients, with additional services provided within the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and affiliated clinics. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, the department is responsible for providing acute and ambulatory care services for adult oncology patients. Within the department, there are 29 oncology clinical pharmacy specialists, pharmacist coordinators, and clinical pharmacists.The Clinical Pharmacist II in Oncology Critical Care and the Oncology Evaluation and Treatment Center (OETC) will provide clinical oversight and support for adult oncology patients receiving care in the oncology intensive care unit (ICU) and in OETC. The OETC is a unique oncology treatment area for ambulatory oncology patients with urgent care needs. The responsibilities of the position include: comprehensive medication management, emergency code response, pharmacy resident/learner education and training, policy/procedure development, formulary and stewardship guideline alignment, and research activities. They will provide drug information and education to patients, students, residents, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners. The Clinical Pharmacist II will also provide operational support through order verification and medication preparation and checking in the Weinberg Oncology Pharmacy, which oversees the following patient care areas: oncology acute care, OETC, IPOP/HIPOP (BMT and cellular therapy) patients, and the Weinberg and Viragh Ambulatory Infusion Clinics.What Awaits You?Career growth and developmentCompetitive Benefits PackageEngaging and collaborative multidisciplinary working environmentInclusive, supportive culture with awareness of work/life balanceTuition reimbursement (employee and dependents)

Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in PharmD or BS degree.Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is required.Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required.Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or a certification deemed appropriate for the practitioner's practice setting by Division Director is required within 2 years of start date.Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired.
