Description

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic-minded Nonprofit Development Manager to join our team. As a crucial member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing strategies in all areas of fundraising including securing funding from individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for our mission, a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies in partnership with the Director of Development to achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustainability.

Cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government entities to secure financial support.

Write compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, donor appeals, and written news and promotional materials to effectively communicate the organization's mission and programs.

Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns, leveraging digital platforms and traditional methods.

Manage year round solicitation activities including direct mail and campaigns.

Manage donor stewardship and recognition activities to ensure strong donor retention and engagement.

Research funding opportunities and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Collaborate with program staff to align fundraising efforts with programmatic goals and impact reporting.

Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and financial projections for senior management and the board of directors.

Create and oversee calendar of social media activities (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)

Demonstrated ability to think creatively and bring fresh ideas and approaches to development initiatives. Flexibility, drive, and a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications or related field is required.

3-5 years minimum proven experience in fundraising/development work for a nonprofit organization

Demonstrated success in securing gifts, grants and sponsorships.

Excellent writing skills with experience in grant writing and donor communications.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute fundraising plans effectively.

Experience using nonprofit fundraising or other database software, preferably Raiser's Edge.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

PERSONAL CAPACITIES:

Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, work independently. Work effectively and graciously with diverse donors, volunteers, and staff to build and maintain successful relationships.

Occasional evenings and weekends and to travel locally is needed. Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift 15 pounds. High level of integrity, diplomacy, and initiative. Hybrid office environment, high volume of video and telephone contact. Work may include periods of high volume, tight deadlines, and events

Monday to Friday 8-5, weekends or evenings as needed

Grant writing: 3 years (Preferred)

Fundraising: 3 years (Preferred)
