Job Summary

Manager of Transaction and Liquidity Systems is a technology leader responsible for managing a set of MUFG online systems that offer corporate customers transaction and liquidity management products and services. In this role, the leader drives the end-to-end continuous system development, and the ecosystem transformation while meeting the bank’s risk requirements and ecosystem resilience. This individual also functions as point of contact for the responsible applications to strategize their roadmap with product managers in the business unit, design the forward-looking architecture with enterprise architecture organization, and lead the teams to implement the solutions with supporting organizations.

This senior vice president reports to the Head of Transaction Banking Technology and supervises individuals and sub-teams of both onshore and offshore staff. This role will require people’s management skills to effectively manage a large team and demands technical savviness to ensure the solutions are sound and fit the expectations of all the bank’s stakeholders. As communication is vital to the successful delivery of technology solutions, this leader is highly desired to be a superb communicator.

In addition, this manager is responsible for overseeing multiple small to medium size projects, and hands-on leading large, complicated, or sensitive IT projects. It’s highly desired for this manager to be an expert in SDLC process, with strong experience in both waterfall and Agile methodology. As part of our mission to continue pursuing effectiveness and efficiency in our execution, this leader must be mindful of delivery capacity and skillful in resource leveling and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coach staff with clear roles and responsibilities, set expectations and priorities for teams and individuals.

Partner with stakeholders to set the expectations and execute defined strategies.

Follow the bank’s policy and procedures and ensure the entire team adheres to the standards and demonstrate everyone’s integrity.

Defined system roadmap with other stakeholder and steward the systems toward target state by leading the team to achieve.

Function as technology owner of the systems, and with team’s support and SME assistance, respond to internal and external requests and changes.

Produce accurate budgetary request when new initiative at horizon and assess appropriate resource level to meet delivery demand.

Monitor and track the progress of team initiatives and activities and bring corrective actions in place to course correct.

Manage integrated customer facing, online, multi-channel applications to align various client segments with excellent user experience.

Drive overall system integrated requirements and manage the entire development process.

Guard technology solutions to meet technology standards and security requirements.

Function as SME for the current cash management platform along with integration services for Transaction Banking products.

Coordinate with infrastructure to seamlessly interact with other bank ecosystems such as payment, reporting and client deliveries.

Partner with client delivery team to ensure client migration and onboarding are seamless and successful.

Leverage vendor technology solutions and manage vendor relationships.

Highly focused on system vulnerability and risk, drive through system remediation to achieve safety and soundness.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or relevant technology field with 10+ years of application architecture, development experience

Candidate must have 5+ years of managerial experience with staff reporting into, and hiring, firing experience.

Strong command of oral and written communications skills.

Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.

Strong project management skills, including organizational, planning, time management, prioritization, and escalation.

Proven track record in managing large scale new product launches and managing 3rd party vendors.

Deep cash management knowledge with specific experience in developing and managing treasury management products online, and file transmission.

Deep knowledge in financial industrial initiatives as ISO 20022, and industry standards such as BAI, SWIFT, ISO 20022, Real Time Payments, and NACHA.

Good knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.

10 years of hands-on software development experience especially Java development of Microservices, UNIX/Shell scripting and preferred in AIX/Linux/VM/AWS environment.

Experienced with designing and developing applications using J2EE platforms with WebSphere, JBOSS, WebLogic, Kubernetes deployment environment.

Good knowledge of web applications development using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Spring MVC, Angular JS, JQuery) and Spring Framework.

Experienced with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and mainstream front-end frameworks (Angular 9+, React).

Experienced with API Development using REST/SOAP and integration by IBM MQ, JMS.

Proficiency in the general areas: Jenkins, BitBucket, and Github, ArgoCD, and Tekton pipeline

Experienced with the CI/CD pipeline process, Kafka, AWS is a plus.

Ability to be on call 24 hours.

Knowledge of Bottomline Technologies, or ACI Online Banking products is a definite plus, but not required.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $145K - $182K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
