The Executive Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing, executing and assessing human resource strategy in support of the overall strategic direction of McPherson College, specifically in the areas of talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, employee relations, policy and procedure, compensation and employee wellness and benefits programs. The Executive Director executes both the tactical and the strategic duties of the human resources office. Most of the Executive Director of Human Resources time will be spend working individually or in small groups working with employees on human resources' issues.
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position which is eligible for all college benefits, including an industry-leading 10% employer match to the employee's retirement plan. Tuition reimbursement and annual compensation increases are also available for this position. This position reports to the CFO and supports operational departments across the President's cabinet.
The preferred applicant would have in their background:
Education: A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university in business or human resources management. A master's degree is preferred. A PHR or SPHR certification is preferred. Academic experience and Title IX experience is also preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 10 - 15 years of HR experience, with at least five years serving
in a generalist role.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills are required. The ability to effectively work with third party providers.
Other Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Windows, Excel and Word
Outlook; and familiarity in a robust HRIS such as Jenzabar, Banner or SAP is required with
an ability to utilize AI technology appropriately. Experience with benefits admin portals is preferred.
Conflict resolution skills are required.
