Major Responsibilities:Responsible for all principal accountabilities of a Physical Therapist I

Meets all principal accountabilities / activities as identified for a Physical Therapist IAssumes a more involved, complex patient caseload

Participation in educational / mentoring activities Therapy students, medical students, peers, Hospital staff and / or the community.

Assists with clinical education through training and instruction of students in the clinical setting.Promotes Physical Therapy to other professionals and the community through participation in educational and marketing programs.Provides in-services to peers in Rehab Services.Assumes role of mentor for new team or program members.Assists with orientation process.

Participation in Rehab Services growth and operations.

Assumes responsibility for major project or committee supporting established goals and objectives.Participates in development of treatment protocols, service policies and procedures, and clinical competencies.Participates in process improvement and quality assurance activities.

Responsible for staying abreast of clinical and operational developments.

Attends continuing education programs.Keeps informed of changes occurring within Rehab Services and Advocate Healthcare.

Assumes other related responsibilities as assigned.Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

Physical Therapist license issued by the state in which the team member practices (IL or WI)Education/Experience Required:

Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy • 2-3 years of clinical experience in medical setting. • Experience with student supervision. • Advanced continuing education. • Experience in providing in-services to peers. Core Stroke Team requires 8hrs annual Stroke Education.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Good communication skills. • Independence in providing advanced level of clinical skills and expertise.Illinois state licensure • 0-3 Credential (for Peds)Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. • Direct contact with body fluids • Services provided on weekends and holidays and during early evening hours • Off campus locationsThis requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
