Job Description: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care under the direction of the RN professional. He/she assumes responsibility and accountability for patient care as a team member in order to achieve established outcomes.

Performs non-interpretable data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.Provides hygienic care, assists with ambulation and meals as directed by the registered professional nurse.Positions patients, provides pre, post op and post mortem care as indicated.Provides a safe patient environment by answering call lights promptly, communicating with the RN immediately for any change in patient's condition.Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/ age, educational literacy, etc).Contacts: Regular contact with Medical Center personnel, patients and visitors.Education Requirement:

Graduate of an accredited program in Licensed Practical Nursing.

Experience:

1 year of LTC experience

Required Certifications & Licensure:

Current valid New Jersey LPN license.Maintain current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.Schedule Notes:

13 week contract 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
