Director of Finance

Brooklyn-based, $20+mm non-profit community development corporation, with significant real estate interests, seeks a Director of Finance reporting directly to the Executive Director. Individual will be responsible for oversight of finance, accounting, reporting, audits, treasury, planning, and administration. Director of Finance will manage a Controller and small staff, but have the willingness and initiative to be hands-on when necessary.ResponsibilitiesOversee cash flow planning, investing, budgeting, and financial modelingManage financing strategies, as well as banking relationshipsOversee all aspects of accounting, reporting, taxes, and internal controlsCreate and maintain distinctive revenue and expense tracking methodologies for Federal grantsManage the audit process for all entitiesReview tax returns prepared by external CPA firmEnsure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functionsQualifications5+ years' of relevant experience in a senior finance positionKnowledge of non-profit and for-profit accountingAbility to managed accounting and reporting for multi-entity, complex structuresExperience with affordable housing preferredCash management, budgeting, and forecasting experienceAbility to manage staff and interact across multiple departmentsNon-profit and real estate software knowledgeCommitment to company's mission to advance economic, social, and racial justice
