Delaware - Family Medicine Medical Director
Would you be interested in this Family Medicine Medical Director position in Delaware?• My client is seeking a dynamic leader in the field of Family Medicine to join them in their efforts to develop a top-ranked Family Medicine Residency program. Their first 8 residents arrived in July 2021. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to have input and make an impact building a program from the ground up. The Family Medicine Clinic opened in June 2021 and has 24 exam rooms, as well as offices and conference rooms to accommodate the needs of the residents and faculty.
• The Family Medicine Medical Director will have responsibilities related to clinical services and the medical care offered at the clinic, patient access, patient safety, and clinic management, as well as ensuring residents are engaged and responsible for the quality of care they deliver. Other duties include, participating in new clinic development, preparing operating budgets, as well as leading the day-to-day operation and coordination of patient care services. The Medical Director will also maintain an active clinical practice at the clinic site.
Requirements:• Requires a MD/DO in primary care (board certified or board eligible) with at least 4 years of outpatient clinical experience.• Desire to work clinically at least 30% when residents start, more before the practice begins to build patient panel.• Prior work experience as a Medical Director and/or work experience in new practice set up strongly preferred.
The client:They are a fully integrated health care system consisting of two hospitals, a free-standing ED and numerous ambulatory and outpatient offices. Both hospitals are certified Primary Stroke Centers. There is 24/7 Hospitalist coverage at both hospitals, as well as Intensivists in the ICU's. Services are available in most specialties including Neurosurgery, Cardiac surgery, Interventional and Structural Cardiology.
The area:• Delaware is consistently rated as one of the lowest cost of living states in which to either raise a family or retire. Located less than two hours from Washington DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia the central/southern Delaware area offers affordable living, history and charm.
