Mount Sinai South Nassau seeks an Family Medicine Faculty Physician to join it's growing department!
Position Responsibilities: This position will permit a board-certified Family Physician to practice the full spectrum of Family Medicine. The physician will have direct patient care, following a small panel of patients in the outpatient setting, serve as a preceptor to residents in the Family Medicine Center, service as the inpatient teaching attending, and be provided with administrative responsibilities which allow for teaching and scholarly activities. Care is provided to patients of all ages, including prenatal care. Intrapartum care and deliveries are not required but can be obtained if desired.
The ideal candidate is a board-certified Family Physician with a passion for teaching and striving to promote the values of Family Medicine and the mission of our ACGME accredited residency program. The physician will participate in faculty development, curricular development and implementation, disseminate scholarly activity, and serve as a role model for our residents. The program promotes residency and faculty well-being, as well as patient safety and continual improvement processes. Regular faculty evaluations help with formative and summative evaluations of the resident, and this faculty person will provide this, as well as serve on the clinical competency committee as well as the program evaluation committee. The faculty person will be responsible for the department Performance Improvement (PI) activities, so an interest in PI is expected and a background in PI is preferred. If there is an interest in women's health, this to would be preferred.
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (South Nassau) Family Medicine Residency Program has been fully accredited by the ACGME for more than 40 years. We have produced hundreds of board-certified Family Physicians and trained thousands of medical students. We have a 100% board pass rate and no citations or area for improvements noted by the ACGME. Our faculty continue to serve in leadership roles throughout NY state and regularly present regionally and nationally.
