Interacts with the providers in the department to assist with patient flow and needs. Works in conjunction with the Educator and/or Clinical Nurse Specialist to meet staff educational needs. Assists with the orientation and training of new employees as needed. Participates in the Quality Improvement Process by providing input and the completion of audits. Responsible for Nurse Leader rounding. Assists with scheduling changes and adjustments to Symplr. Assists with performance feedback to staff and other tasks as directed by the Nurse Manager. The Shift Coordinator will be expected to have a weekend and holiday rotation. They will have a combination of bedside and staff resource responsibility. The Shift Coordinator will assume Clinical Team Leader role to provide staffing support. This is a non-supervisory role. The Shift Coordinator will be an adjunct to the ED management team.

Dayton Children’s is home to the region’s only Level 1 pediatric trauma center. The emergency department staff at Dayton Children’s specializes in one thing: caring for critically ill and injured children—with two convenient locations, you can rest assured that no matter what the emergency, our team is ready to provide the highest quality care. Dayton Children's main campus emergency department includes 47 treatment rooms, with an average census of 200 patients per day.

Hours

Full Time Night Shift 7p-7a (flexible)

Education

BSN from an accredited program of nursing required

Experience

2 years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience required

Excellent communication, computer and customer service skills required

Certifications/Licensures

RN licensure in State of Ohio required

CPR Certification required

PALS Certification required

Professional certification within 3 years of hire required
