Position Description:
deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Material Program Manager to lead supply chain and material management efforts, ensuring alignment with overall program goals. This role will integrate supply chain strategies into the broader program management plan, collaborating across multiple functional areas and with external suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), project management, and supply chain operations within a defense or aerospace context.
Responsibilities Include:
Support cross-functional teams within assigned programs, working with suppliers, program managers, functional managers, and customers to meet program cost, schedule, and technical objectives.Develop and execute material program strategies for individual programs, ensuring material requirements are aligned with program objectives.Support supply chain negotiations and assist in developing supplier baseline plans, including budget and schedule baselines, and manage supplier performance.Maintain and assess program material requirements, balancing supply and demand to create and maintain executable schedules. This includes capacity planning, scheduling, and ensuring that material needs align with program timelines.Support financial planning and earned value management (EVM), including budgeting, material forecasting, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) generation.Act as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for material.Develop and manage the Supplier Risk/Opportunity Management Plan to evaluate and mitigate risks within the supply chain.Resolve material status issues, supplier conflicts, and cross-functional team challenges to ensure uninterrupted program execution.Prepare and deliver material status reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including peers, customers, suppliers, and managers, effectively communicating program progress, challenges, and solutions.Ensure compliance with government regulations (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR), public law, quality standards, and customer flow-through requirements.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field.
Experience Requirements:
5 years' experience of relevant supply chain and material management experience.Strong analytical abilities to evaluate end-to-end supply chain processes, identify constraints, and develop systemic solutions to optimize performance.Knowledge of project management methods within the defense acquisition environment including program planning, integrated master scheduling, budgeting and earned value management.Ability to define and negotiate task objectives, scope description and completion criteria.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle conflict and resolve issues effectively.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Special Skills Desired:
Active Top Secret clearance / SCI
