The Orchard Unit
is a 17-bed unit located on our historic Baltimore/Washington Campus campus
that serves adult patients ages 18 and older who suffer from one or more psychiatric disorders. We treat a wide range of psychiatric disorders on this unit, including, but not limited to, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, and psychosis.
As a Staff Nurse you will:
Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.Document and report patient progress to treatment team.Requirements:
Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.Comprehensive knowledge of nursing-acquired through at least one year of inpatient RN experience; prior LPN inpatient experience will be considered with every one year of LPN experience equating to 6 months RN experienceExperience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.AHA CPR required before first day of employment
