Details

The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies is seeking a Hematologist with an interest in adult General Hematology.

The division has a faculty of six non-malignant adult hematologists with international reputations as clinicians and clinician-scientists. We have programs in Hemostasis, Thrombosis, Hereditary and Acquired Anemias, abnormalities of Heme and Iron Metabolism, and Myeloproliferative Disorders. The division has a combined fellowship program with Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine that attracts very strong fellows.

Due to the continued growth of these clinical programs, the new faculty member’s clinical responsibilities will focus primarily on non-malignant hematologic disorders primarily in the out-patient setting at Sugar House Health Center.

Our faculty have a long track record of mentoring junior faculty, so the University of Utah presents a rare opportunity to build a strong career as a successful and internationally respected academic hematologist.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold M.D., D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees and will be board-certified or board eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology, and eligible for a Utah Medical License.

Preference: Prior experience and training will ideally reflect a strong clinical and/or research interest in non-malignant Hematology, clinical excellence and a career in an academic environment. We encourage candidates with aspirations of becoming clinician-scientists. Additional research support would be available for candidates with existing grant support.
