Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO"), the Director of Finance works closely with senior management, finance teams, auditors, and regulatory agencies to manage the financial health of the company. This role ensures the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and the strategic financial planning necessary to support the company's growth. This role also involves mentoring and leading the finance team to achieve excellence in financial management and reporting. The ideal candidate has a natural curiosity and has a strong ability to engage with the business.
Base Salary Range:
$180,000 - $220,000
Target Total Cash Range:
$225,000 - $275,000
Target total cash represents this role's annualized cash earning potential at target (base salary + target discretionary bonus). Target total cash is contingent on targeted company performance achievement and individual attainment of performance goals. Therefore, target total cash is not guaranteed earnings.

Remote, Hybrid, or Onsite:
This position works onsite out of our Los Angeles, California headquarters with occasional travel.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
•Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
•Ensure compliance with GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
•Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and reporting.
•Manage cash flow, including monitoring of receivables and payables.
•Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and prepare audit schedules.
•Coordinate with external tax advisors for tax returns and prepare tax schedules.
•Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
•Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
•Develop and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions.
•Manage and mentor the finance team to build a high-performing finance function.
•Implement and maintain financial systems and software to streamline financial operations.
•Lead risk management initiatives, including insurance coverage and mitigation strategies.
•Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in collaboration with HR.
•Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration of financial operations.
•Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects and investments.
•Lead the development and maintenance of financial models to support business planning.
•Actively engage with business units to understand operational needs, approaching challenges with a problem-solving mindset and curiosity about the underlying business drivers.
•Regularly report on financial status, key metrics, and financial risks to senior management and the board.
•Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
•Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
•Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution, in a related field or equivalent years of experience.
•CPA designation strongly preferred.
•Minimum 10+ years progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
•Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership position within a finance or accounting role.
•Experience in the produce industry strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Strong knowledge of GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
•Proficient in financial modeling and analysis.
•Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
•Excellent leadership & project management skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•Self-motivated and able to work and adapt effectively & efficiently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
•Ability to engage with various business units and maintain a strong curiosity about operational functions.
•Ability to meet work commitments, manage multiple priorities, and follow through in a responsible and reliable manner.
