Summary

The EV Charging Infrastructure Manager is primarily responsible for shaping and implementing Kia America's U.S. EV charging strategies for home, mobile, and public EV/PHEV charging, as well as representing Kia in the IONNA charging joint venture and in relevant policy meetings.

The EV Charging Infrastructure Manager will serve as Kia America's in-house EVSE/charging infrastructure subject matter expert, and will create innovative solutions and proposals that consider EV/PHEV driver needs, homeowner needs, Kia dealer needs, and many other factors (technology, EVSE/networks/providers, etc.). The Manager will monitor customer charging requirements, major EV charging trends (NACS, hardware, software, competitors, NEVI, V2X, HEMS, on-board charging technology, utilities, legislation/policy), and other relevant charging-related developments to help devise superior Kia charging strategies.

The Manager will work across Kia's organization to ultimately support Kia EV/PHEV adoption via charging solutions.

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 40%

Define and manage Kia's charging strategies, partnerships, and recommendations for home, mobile, and public. Shape Kia dealer charging solutions.

2nd Priority - 30%

Represent Kia in the IONNA charging joint venture.

3rd Priority - 20%

Serve as EV charging partnership manager (for Tesla/NACS, Electrify America, ChargePoint, PlugShare, etc).

4th Priority - 10%

Serve as Kia America's charging SME (NACS, EVSE, V2X, policy). Represent Kia in policy-related requirements.

Education/Certification

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience requiredAdvanced degree (MSE, MBA) preferredOverall Experience

8-10 years of experience in engineering, automotive planning/strategy, or closely related fields required5+ years of professional experience with CPO or automotive OEMAutomotive industry experience and experience with PHEVs and EVsSharp knowledge of the EV charging ecosystemDirectly Related Experience

3+ years of professional experience and expertise in EV charging systems/hardware/softwareSharp knowledge of EV charging standards (SAE, CCS, NACS, UL, etc.), main entities in public charging such as Charge Point Operators (CPO), eMobility Service Providers (EMSP), charger manufacturers, as well as legislation (NEVI, IRA, ACC2), roaming platforms and site hosts.Understanding of next-generation charging/concepts and how an OEM should strategize to maintain competitivenessOther Requirements:

Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
