Schedule Details:

Location: Waukesha Memorial Hospital (WMH)Shifts: Hours flexible based on availability. Weeknight hours flexible based on availability. Weekend shift rotation. No holidays or call responsibilities.Under the supervision of a registered (RDMS) sonographer, produces high quality ultrasounds on patients of all ages. Demonstrates knowledge and familiarity of cross-sectional anatomy and operating Ultrasound systems, PACS, and other computer software according to established procedures. Upon completion of internship, staff member should be able to perform department specific ultrasound procedures, begin/end exams in EPIC, and retrieve and view images in PACS.

What You Will Do:

Under the supervision of a registered (RDMS) sonographer, produces high quality ultrasounds on patients of all ages. Demonstrates knowledge and familiarity of cross-sectional anatomy and operating Ultrasound systems, PACS, and other computer software according to established procedures. Upon completion of internship, staff member should be able to perform department specific ultrasound procedures, begin/end exams in EPIC, and retrieve and view images in PACS.

Responsibilities:Evaluate ultrasound imaging to assure established quality control standards are met.Implement proper patient positioning utilizing age appropriate techniques/equipment.Perform ultrasound procedures ordered by physicians.Maintain proper operation of all ultrasound equipment, contact biomed, technical specialist or supervisor with any equipment concerns.Maintain adequate supplies in the ultrasound rooms.Ensures cleanliness of assigned equipment and rooms after each use, maintains room in a ready state and prepared for next patient use.Demonstrates critical thinking skills.Reports failures and operational concerns to technical specialist or supervisor.Adheres to organizational practices relating to confidentiality.Completes all documentation accurately and efficiently as outlined by policy and procedure guidelines.Ability to handle peers with a high degree of respect, tact, courtesy and patienceRequirements:

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in SonographyCompletion of a minimum of twelve (12) months training in an accredited program in SonographyClinical competency in abdominal, pelvic, and routine vascular exams performed by the ultrasound department. Competency much be verified by Sonography Program DirectorAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examination for Sonographic Principles and Instrumentation (SPI)No experience requiredValid WI Driver's License and in good standingPossesses excellent communication skillsAbility to handle peers with a high degree of respect, tact, courtesy, and patienceWhy Join ProHealth Care:
