Job DescriptionTo support the implementation of automated material handling equipment into our distribution centers. Typical equipment includes: conveyor, carton / tote sortation, unit picking, unit sortation, case shuttle storage systems. The automation engineering team supports our operations teams at our more automated distribution sites across multiple project phases: design, implementation, testing, go-live, and post go-live.ResponsibilitiesProvides equipment layout and function expert advice to our design and operations teams.Calculates equipment rates and targeted performanceSupports equipment punchlisting and rate testingSupports warehouse control / execution system software design and testSupports and educates the operations team on how to use the new equipmentPerforms data analysis of equipment rates and errorsSupports the operations team to implement equipment maintenance agreementsDevelops productivity estimates for processes that interface with material handling equipmentKey Skills:Prior experience implementing automated unit / case handling equipmentPLC equipment controlCAD for equipment layoutExcellent verbal and written communicationProject managementWarehouse control systems (WCS)Warehouse management systems (WMS)BarcodingData analysis using excel, access, SQL, power BIMOST / MTM labor modelingGreat organizational skillsExperience with new distribution center start-upsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in an engineering field, with particular emphasis on Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Facilities, and/or Maintenance Engineering required3-5years of experience in distribution or manufacturing engineering, with particular emphasis on Ecommerce Fulfillment implementation projects or engineering management required1-2 years of project management experience for automated material handling equipment or building implementation requiredOur Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement. Create automated tests that are currently carried out manually and identify system issues/bugs to ensure they are fixed. Ask critical questions about the usability and configuration options of the applications and proactively make suggestions for improving them.Create structured test plans and test reports in conjunction with Operations
